Although the sites offer only tiny grainy images of naked Japanese models, sociologists say that the key to predicting whether a new technology will take off is to determine whether it's used for pornography: "It's inevitable, I suppose, that with any new technology people will use it for porn," says David Birch, CEO of Consult Hyperion.
