from the dept. Polaroid Corp. and Japanese camera maker Olympus Inc. plan to jointly produce a digital camera that prints instant pictures on Polaroid film. The deal announced Tuesday means that Cambridge-based Polaroid, which had cameras that made instant prints and digital cameras that took instant pictures, will have one camera that does both. The camera, called the C-211 Zoom, will be released this fall and will sell for $800. It has both optical and digital lenses, and allows users to store pictures on a disk and print from the camera by inserting an instant film cartridge. < | >
