
from the dept. Kenwood Corp. is exhibiting a personal digital assistant (PDA) dubbed the InfoVendor at CEATEC Japan 2000 that features a built-in Bluetooth module. The InfoVendor is unique in that it is designed for outdoor use, whereas most Bluetooth-compatible devices now in development are being designed on the premise that Bluetooth is for indoor data communications. Such could be either between two terminals or between a terminal and a mobile phone. "If Bluetooth base stations were to be placed outdoors, then you would not need a mobile phone.
